Job Description
With the granting of a licence by the Air Transport Licensing Authority (ATLA) to operate scheduled air services between Hong Kong and over 100 destinations in Chinese Mainland and Asia Pacific, we are making preparations for the launch of our commercial operations planned for the 3rd quarter of this year. We are inviting applications for the position of General Manager, Commercial, from suitably qualified candidates with sound commercial background and business development experience gained in the airline industry, to play a crucial role as a key member of the senior management team in taking charge of the commercial aspects of the airline and driving its business development initiatives. By spearheading the commercial team to achieve sustainable and profitable growth for the airline, the successful candidate will have a golden opportunity to fulfill his/her own career goals and ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and formulate development plans for the profitable growth of the airline
Develop and manage a brand image that reflects the airline’s market positioning and projects its unique customer propositions
Formulate and execute pricing, sales & distribution strategies to drive passenger sales and market share and ultimately, profitability
Optimise network revenue through the application of revenue sharing model, and the implementation of revenue management strategy, systems and processes
Develop and execute marketing communications strategy and initiatives
Develop and manage interline partnerships
Establish a digital strategy and e-commerce platform for the airline
Formulate commercial policies & prepare procedures manual
Formulate annual and periodic budgets and forecasts for the division in line with corporate fleet plan Lead and formulate development plans for the profitable growth of the airline
Holder of a relevant bachelor’s degree or above
A minimum of 15 years’ business development experience in the airline industry, and at least 10 of which in a senior management capacity
Knowledge and experience of latest distribution systems in the airlines industry
Knowledge of revenue management models and systems
Proven successful commercial management ability and experience
Good knowledge and experience of the aviation markets in Mainland China and Asia Pacific. Airline sales and distribution experience in The Greater Bay Area a plus
Excellent command of both oral and written English, proficiency in the Chinese language a significant attribute
Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills
Strong leadership and business acumen, results driven
Fully COVID-19 vaccinated, consideration will be given to those who are unable to get vaccinated for valid medical reasons Hong Kong permanent resident status
