Greater Bay Airlines’ scheduled service to Yichang starts today

Greater Bay Airlines today commenced a scheduled service to Yichang in Hubei Province. Passengers of the inaugural flight were greeted by GBA CEO Ms Liza Ng (2nd right) at the boarding gate of Hong Kong International Airport this afternoon.

The inaugural flight was warmly welcomed with a water salute upon arrival at Yichang Sanxia International Airport around 5pm, followed by an inaugural ceremony held on the apron. Officiating at the ceremony were Ms Liu Zhengzheng, Leading Party Group Member and Deputy Director General of Yichang Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism (11th left); Mr Xu Zuoqiang, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Yichang Sanxia International Airport (12th right); Mr Wang Liang, Section Chief (Port Section) of Yichang Municipal Bureau of Commerce (4th right); and representatives from GBA among other distinguished guests.

(17 December 2024) Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) today commenced a scheduled service to Yichang in Hubei Province. The airline’s network in Mainland China further expanded, following the recent launch of the Zhoushan and Huangshan routes. Passengers of the inaugural flight were greeted by GBA CEO Ms Liza Ng at the boarding gate of Hong Kong International Airport this afternoon. This new service offers a direct flight three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, providing greater convenience for visiting the Three Gorges Dam and other famous tourist attractions.

The inaugural flight was warmly welcomed with a water salute upon arrival at Yichang Sanxia International Airport around 5pm, followed by an inaugural ceremony held on the apron. Officiating at the ceremony were Ms Liu Zhengzheng, Leading Party Group Member and Deputy Director General of Yichang Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism; Mr Xu Zuoqiang, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Yichang Sanxia International Airport; Mr Wang Liang, Section Chief (Port Section) of Yichang Municipal Bureau of Commerce; and representatives from GBA among other distinguished guests.

Located in southwestern Hubei Province, Yichang has rich tourism resources and attracted a total of 110 million local and international visitors in 2023 including three million travelling by air.
