Greater Bay Airlines introduces scheduled service to Zhangjiajie

Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) launched a scheduled service to Zhangjiajie last evening (15 April), following the Guilin route inaugurated in the morning the same day. Accompanied by representatives of the GBA management, Mr Raymond Wong, Airport Authority Hong Kong’s Assistant Manager for Hub Development (2nd left), showed support to the new route by greeting the passengers and aircrew of the first flight at Hong Kong International Airport.

A ceremony was held at the apron of the Zhangjiajie airport this morning (16 April). Mr Li Cizhong, Deputy Secretary-General of Zhangjiajie Municipal People’s Government (middle), and Mr Stanley Kan, General Manager Ground Services of GBA (3rd left), were invited to join other distinguished guests in celebrating the inaugural flight for Hong Kong.

(16 April 2025) Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) launched a scheduled service to Zhangjiajie last evening (15 April), following the Guilin route inaugurated in the morning the same day, further strengthening the airline’s Mainland network to a total of five destinations. The new service runs a three-time weekly schedule between Hong Kong and Zhangjiajie.

Accompanied by representatives of the GBA management, Mr Raymond Wong, Airport Authority Hong Kong’s Assistant Manager for Hub Development, showed support to the new route by greeting the passengers and aircrew of the first flight at Hong Kong International Airport. The flight arrived at Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport around 11:30pm.

Zhangjiajie is in the northwestern part of Hunan Province. The city offers a variety of stunning natural features including Wulingyuan Scenic Area, which was inscribed in the list of the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 1992. As the world’s longest and highest glass bridge, the 430-metre long Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge provides breathtaking views of the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon.
