AIRLINE PLANNING MANAGER

Job Description

You are expected to adopt a hands-on approach, help drive our network planning strategy in step with the growth of the business, and oversee the operation of Airline Planning Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing a long term plan and planning modelling for the evolving scope and shape of the airline
  • Develop the passenger network by identifying and evaluating the feasibility of new routes for the airline
  • Participate in formulating the fleet and configuration requirements in support of the airline’s network planning objectives
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders for creating a scheduling plan that optimises operational efficiency, aircraft utilisation and profitability
  • Handle the application processes for winter and summer flight schedule slots
  • Handle government license and permit applications related to new routes and schedule changes as needed
  • Monitor the financial performance of the route network, identifying variances, emergence of trends, opportunities and threats that require management attention
  • Prepare annual and periodic operating budgets for the department
  • Manage ad hoc project work and presentations, providing relevant analysis and expertise as required
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

  • Holder of a relevant bachelor’s degree or above
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in airline planning and management, and at least 3 of which in a managerial capacity
  • Strong numeracy skill, well versed with airline economic models and analysis
  • Good command of both oral and written English, proficiency in both Cantonese and Putonghua a significant advantage
  • A team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Leadership ability, with business acumen and result driven
  • Independent, self–motivated and able to work under pressure
