(18 September 2025) Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) starts operating a scheduled service to Datong, Shanxi Province this week, making it a total of eight destinations in the airline’s Chinese Mainland network. This new route operates two flights per week, every Tuesday and Saturday, between Hong Kong and Datong (Datong Yungang International Airport).
Located in the northern part of Shanxi Province, Datong is among the nine ancient cities in China and is a National Famous Historical and Cultural City designated by the State Council back in 1982. On top of numerous tourist attractions are the Yungang Grottoes that were inscribed in the list of the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 2001. The stunning Mount Hengshan, also known as North Yue, is one of the five great mountains in China.
