Passport
When travelling on our flights, passengers must carry their own passport / applicable travel document, including children and infants under two years old. Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your journey. Please note that many countries have additional requirements on passport validity, and may require the passport to be valid for up to 6 months. We recommend passengers to visit the official website of the designated country for specific passport validity requirements.

 

Important Notice to British National (Overseas) Passport Holders

The HKSAR Government has announced that the British National (Overseas) passport is not recognised as valid travel document or proof of identity with effect from 31 January 2021.

Passengers travelling to/from Hong Kong are advised to note the following:

  1. BN(O) passport cannot be used for immigration clearance in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong residents concerned may continue to use their HKSAR Passports or Hong Kong Permanent Identity Cards for entering or departing Hong Kong;
  2. BN(O) passport cannot be used as any form of proof of identity in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong residents concerned may continue to use their Hong Kong Permanent Identity Cards as proof of identity;
  3. When passengers board flights for Hong Kong, airlines concerned must require Hong Kong residents to present their HKSAR Passports or Hong Kong Permanent Identity Cards as proof;
  4. Hong Kong permanent residents who are not of Chinese nationality and do not hold other valid travel document may apply to the Immigration Department for Document of Identity for Visa Purposes for international travel.

 

Visa
Depending on your nationality, purpose of visit, and your connecting flights, you may need a visa (if applicable) to enter your country of destination. Please note that entry requirements may vary greatly by country and are subject to change at any time.

If you need a visa for your journey, you can apply directly with the consular office of the country you want to travel to. You are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents, including any required visa for travelling from your departure and destination country, as well as any transit country.
