Greater Bay Airlines launches the GBA Air Link sea-to-air service with Chu Kong Passenger Transport Company Limited under a codeshare arrangement, providing a seamless connection to passengers who travel from any one of the six major ports in the Greater Bay Area (namely Dongguan Humen, Guangzhou Nansha, Guangzhou Pazhou, Shenzhen Fuyong, Shenzhen Shekou and Zhongshan) to transit at Hong Kong International Airport.
(30 July 2024) Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) just launched the GBA Air Link sea-to-air service with Chu Kong Passenger Transport Company Limited (CKS) under a codeshare arrangement, providing a seamless connection to passengers who travel from any one of the six major ports in the Greater Bay Area (namely Dongguan Humen, Guangzhou Nansha, Guangzhou Pazhou, Shenzhen Fuyong, Shenzhen Shekou and Zhongshan) to transit at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Effective today, passengers can now book just one ticket for both the high-speed ferry and air journeys, carrying the same “HB” code, through designated travel agents in Mainland China or GBA’s Customer Service Centre.
GBA Air Link provides a time-saving and cost-effective option to passengers who are able to enjoy one-stop convenience by completing the immigration and check-in procedures at the departing port in advance before they travel by high-speed ferry to SkyPier of HKIA and proceed to the designated boarding gates for their flights. The same baggage allowance for the GBA flight is also applicable to the ferry journey and the baggage will be transferred directly from the departing port to the destination airport. Apart from the shorter travelling time, passengers will also benefit from the exemption of the Air Passenger Departure Tax in Hong Kong.
Currently, there are more than 50 sailings between the above six ports and HKIA each day. The codeshare arrangement demonstrates GBA’s continued support to the strategy of enhancing Hong Kong’s intermodal connectivity and reinforcing the city’s status as an international aviation hub. Furthermore, this will help promote the tourism and economic activities between Hong Kong and other Greater Bay Area cities, contributing to the development of the Area as well as the integration of Hong Kong into the national development.
GBA has been proactively expanding its passenger network since it commenced scheduled service in July 2022. The airline is not only adding new destinations and enhancing the frequencies of existing routes but is also operating charter flights to meet the market demand. GBA is currently operating scheduled services between Hong Kong and Bangkok, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Manila and Haikou with a fleet of eight Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
