Greater Bay Airlines adds Seoul as a new destination in January 2023
(15 December 2022) Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) today announced the launch of the Hong Kong – Seoul service as the fourth destination of its expanding network starting 17 January 2023. This new service will be operated three times a week between Hong Kong and Seoul (Incheon International Airport).
Following Korea’s earlier announcement on the resumption of the visa-free entry arrangement for visitors of different origins including Hong Kong, the country has been proactively organizing a wide range of promotion activities to help boost inbound tourism, further bringing up the demand for travel to Korea.
The recent new arrangements announced by the HKSAR Government in regard to COVID prevention and control policies for travellers to Hong Kong are expected to encourage more Korean travellers to visit Hong Kong. There is also a tendency for some of these travellers to visit cities in the Greater Bay Area after Hong Kong for tourism or business purposes. The concurrent further optimization of COVID prevention and control measures in the Mainland and hopefully eventually easier entry to cities across the boundary without the need for quarantine are expected to have a very positive impact on inbound travel to Hong Kong.
While Korea is one of the sought after destinations for Hong Kong travellers, GBA’s new Hong Kong – Seoul, Incheon service provides a preferred schedule with a morning departure flight which is convenient to travellers who are eager to plan for an aggressive itinerary upon arrival. The airline will review the schedule from time to time to meet the needs of customers.
The flight schedule of GBA’s Hong Kong – Seoul, Incheon service is as follows:
Flight No. | From | To | Departure / Arrival | Days of Week |
---|---|---|---|---|
HB520 | Hong Kong | Seoul, Incheon | 0830 / 1305 | Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday |
HB521 | Seoul, Incheon | Hong Kong | 1405 / 1705 | Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday |
The new service is operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft with an all-economy configuration.
