Greater Bay Airlines’ Tokushima scheduled service commences today

Greater Bay Airlines launched a scheduled service to Tokushima this morning, further expanding its network coverage to a total of four Japanese destinations. This new service will operate three times a week every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday between Hong Kong and Tokushima. 

The Tokushima Prefectural Government hosted a welcome ceremony upon arrival of the inaugural flight at Tokushima Awaodori Airport at about 3:00pm, local time. Officiating guests included Mr Murakami Koji, Vice Governor of the Tokushima Prefectural Government (seventh left); Mr Leo Tze, Deputy Representative of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Tokyo), Hong Kong SAR Government (third right); and Ms Liza Ng, CEO of GBA (fifth right), among other distinguished guests. 

(16 November 2024) Proactively opening new routes in Japan, Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) launched a scheduled service to Tokushima this morning, further expanding its network coverage to a total of four Japanese destinations. This new service will operate three times a week every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday between Hong Kong and Tokushima.

The Tokushima Prefectural Government hosted a welcome ceremony upon arrival of the inaugural flight at Tokushima Awaodori Airport at about 3:00pm, local time. Mr Murakami Koji, Vice Governor of the Tokushima Prefectural Government; Mr Leo Tze, Deputy Representative of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Tokyo), Hong Kong SAR Government; and Ms Liza Ng, CEO of GBA, addressed at the ceremony. “We are committed to developing the Japanese market seriously. With this Tokushima route and the Sendai service to be launched next month, GBA’s network will reach out to five cities in Japan. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Tokushima Prefectural Government for their great support to us in making this new route possible,” said Ms Liza Ng.

A value carrier based in Hong Kong, GBA commenced scheduled service in July 2022 and is currently operating flights between Hong Kong and Bangkok, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Yonago, Tokushima, Manila and Zhoushan with a fleet of eight Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
