Job Description

We are inviting applications for the position of Assistant General Manager, Flight Operations.  This is a non-flying position for candidates who may or may not have a pilot background but must have sound flight crew deployment and flight operations background and experience.  The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the Flight Operations functions of the airline to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and security in accordance with company policies and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager, Flight Operations (GMFO) in directing, developing, and controlling policies for the efficient and cost-effective running of the Flight Operations Department
  • Oversee the support aspects of the Company’s flight operations, particularly with responsibility for the provision and deployment of suitably qualified crew
  • Oversee the Service Level Agreement for the provision of Planning, Rostering, Crew Control and Crew Data Management services
  • Assist in undertaking regular reviews of Aircrew conditions of service and their administration
  • Liaise with internal parties on crew operational arrangements including but not limited to training and checking, manpower requirements, aircrew manning and rostering, HOTAC and FTL, and operational security; as well as establish and improve relevant policies and procedures therefor
  • Assist in maintaining relations with appropriate government bodies, ICAO, IATA, other airlines, manufacturers, and suppliers
  • Assist in producing and controlling financial and manpower forecasts for the Department, and in reviewing and controlling departmental expenditure in line with budgets and forecasts

Requirements

  • HK Permanent Resident or having the right to work in Hong Kong
  • Tertiary education or above
  • A minimum of 12 years of airline experience preferably in flight operations, and at least 7 of which in a management capacity. Holder or previous holder of an ATPL is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of CAD 371 The Avoidance of Fatigue in Aircrews; CAD360; CAP 448C AN(HK)O; IATA Audit Training; and CAD 54 Pilot Licensing
  • Excellent command of oral and written English.  Understanding of Chinese is an added advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
