Greater Bay Airlines expands network with new routes to Tokushima and Sendai

(19 September 2024) Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) continues to expand its passenger network by introducing two new routes today. The charter flights to Tokushima and Sendai in Japan will be converted to a scheduled service starting 16 November 2024 and 7 December 2024 respectively. The Tokushima route will operate three times a week while Sendai will be a four-time weekly service.

Located at the northeast part of Shikoku in Japan, Tokushima Prefecture is famous for the stunning view from the top of Mount Bizan and the traditional dancing performance of the annual Awa Odori Festival. Visitors should not miss the Naruto Whirlpools that can be viewed from the Onaruto Bridge or from a sightseeing boat.

As the capital of Miyagi Prefecture and the largest city in the northeast of Japan, Sendai is famous of its samurai history displayed in well-preserved architectural treasures, for example, Zuihoden, the mausoleum of feudal lord Date Masamune. A visit to the mysterious Zao Fox Village, where foxes wander freely, is also a unique experience.

GBA’s direct flights can now bring greater convenience to travellers who no longer need to take a Shinkansen train or a transfer flight from major cities such as Osaka and Tokyo.

The flight schedules of the two new routes (subject to government approval) are as follows:
